Women’s Rights Network
We are a network of women from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland with one main focus: to defend the sex-based rights of women. We are not aligned to any political party - we are women of all political persuasions and none. Our position is "Respect My Sex" - we support candidates who understand the rights and needs of women, regardless of party.WRN has around 60 geographical groups, with more than 1200 members. Our members are of all ages, sexual orientation, races, disability, employment status and socio-economic backgrounds. Some of us are parents and/or carers. We have differing religious beliefs. But, we are all committed to free speech and to putting the sex based needs of women and girls first. And we are all women - adult human females. Our groups offer a safe space to talk freely and compassionately. We provide support to one another and campaign for evidence-based solutions to stop the erasure of our sex-based rights. Join Us! New groups are forming all the time and new members are always welcome.Want to learn more? Sex Matters - Make the Equality Act Clear!
Many of you have already signed and THANK YOU! 🙏🏻
But there's more to do and we need to work FAST.
WRN hosted a meeting with Sex Matters to understand the need for the petition and how this benefits us all. We recorded much of it and share it here.
Sex Matters is asking people in the UK to sign their official petition calling on the Government to update the Equality Act 2010 to make clear that the protected characteristic of “sex” means biological sex, and is not modified by the holding of a gender recognition certificate.
If you’re a British citizen or UK resident, and you haven’t already signed, please do it today. It only takes a minute, and your name won’t be shared or published.
If you think you could get five or ten friends to sign, then join us in the next stage of the campaign by becoming a petition champion (you still don't have to be public to do this). We will send you resources, ideas and encouragement for sharing the petition. Sign up now and spread the word!
Find out more from Maya and Helen in the discussion.
And find out what YOU can do to help! Every type and size of contribution is much needed and incredibly helpful.
Enjoy the podcast, share the podcast, share the petition and become a Champion!
